blocked fuel rail or injectors? Remove the whole rail with injectors still in, crank motor and see if they all spray :D

I helped a friend with an engine conversion and the motor ran perfectly well in the old car, then in the new one it was only running on 3 cylinders (3sgte). Turned out to be a blocked injector.

The fact that one end of the motor isn't running is why I think it could be a blocked fuel rail. Could also be insufficient fuel pressure.

Anyway I don't know how the fuel rail comes out on a 5M, should be fairly easy though

The 5M runs a resistor pack for the injectors and it is an aluminium block with a three wire connector. It mounts on the inner guard and connects to the engine loom in the area of the distributor. It houses two resistors for two banks of three injectors:

It could be a simple connection problem. If not, check the resistance for each resistor - one may have blown......

thanks heaps for that info, i used the loom off the transplant engine and dont remember connecting up the part you refer too, so that could well be the problem :) i will post on my progress, cheers

thanks for all the suggestions, and big thanks to Toymad!!! it indeed was exactly what you described, the problem lay in the plactic connectors, one of the spade terminals had been pulled halfway out resulting in there being no caontact between the 2 wires ;) very simple to fix. now i can get it out of the workshop and finnaly get some pics.
