17's

Postby 86_rolla » Mon Feb 06, 2006 12:11 pm

ok i no its not a toyota but hey. Ive got some 17X8 inch rims here to hopefully go on my EF civic. I put the ims on today, no tyres and tested it on full lock. It looks like with suspension travel its going to hit the inner gaurd. Any ideas on making these fit??? spacers?? will i have to lengthen the shafts that the wheels go on to?????

no because of them bein 8 inches wide they basically stuff it up , they r to wide for the offset , and if u use spacers it will make it even worse 8)

Why did you buy rims, if you didnt know that they would fit?

Im not criticising, I'm genuinely curious. as posts like this seem to come up every now and then from various people.

did you buy them privately? if not and you brought them from say the likes of mag and turbo, you should be able to take them back surely, and get the proper size that suits? most decent companies shoudl be able to help you out in this situation

What would you expect putting 8 inch wide mags on a Civic though?

i didnt even look at the width, dumb i no. On his trademe post it said it fits civics.

What i might do is see if i can take it to a tyre shop and fit one of there shitty tyres to the mags and see how much it rubs and shit and then either take them back or do what is required to fit them
