lol, no.

We found that out before we built the motor.
Aftermarket steel rotored pumps are available,

however we did prove the one obout standard rods not liking more than 7K.
Motec datalogging shows it escaped at 7100 rpm.

On the bright side,
we have never had the same problem twice.
soon we must run out of problems.

When we get the time we will put it back together again.
we have 99% of the problems solved down to why they happened and how to stop them re-occouring, so we are now going to build a good motor again as the last few were just build ups of parts basically.

There is the possibility that I may run it at the 4&Rotarys in march,
and hope to get it to a hub dnyo for decent reading and tune.

My corona would rev off the gauge  (8k)

Revving to redline is also about putting the engine in the right place for the next gear, so changing at or just before the red mark on your tachometer is something that you should practice (preferably on a drag strip). None of this Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirst gear - 5TH stuff around town

My Factory aa_63 would rev off the clock but you noticed the effects eventually!

As stated redline while cold is bad mkay.

Excessive revs will fatigue your engine quicker. rods, bearings, lifters/shims, etc.

but dont worry about it too much 8)

I know that this is the right idea, but it doesn't work in some cars, mine to be exact... I believe(read online) some have solved it by getting a heavier fly wheel, as the factory one drops revs too quickly. it only matters in the 1st-2nd, and apparently 5th-6th, but I can't say that I've ever hit the 5th-6th one, my balls arent that big(redline in 4th is ~210km/h)

Well, when we pull my bigport down to trace the knock, I can tell you what 18 months of clubsport use, much of it on or near the redline does to a 4AGE.

In carb'd cars, the fuel is still being supplied, the engine just can't rotate any faster.

Most ECU's will use an Ignition cut to achieve a soft rev limit, while using fuel AND ignition for a hard limit.

well ok then, but even when flat shifting it doesn't quite hit the magic point. maybe(probably) I need more practice.

i can post up what 1 season of valve-boucing clubsport antics does to a highly strung 2-T.
I've been a bad bad boy. I should read the rules and behave before I get spanked by an admin

Flat shifting?

Holding the accelerator down while you change?

No need for that 8O on the road.. or even on a strip unless you got lotsa money for gearboxes. Although, maintaining a small amount of revs (not lifting all the way off the throttle) is alright, but if your cars turbo your blowoff valve may not discharge, should be ok though.
