3sg(t)e..... Have to take intake cam out for headbolts? Argh
Hi folks.
I was just wondering if any other 3sge/3sgtes are the same?
Im going to have to take the intake cam out, to get the heabolts in.
What a PITA! I was hoping to leave the head assembled, as from the workshop.
This wasnt necessary on my gen 2 engine, Is it the same for gen 3's?
Or I could be wrong (I hope so!) As it was rather late last night (5.30am) when I was looking at it.

dave they are 13.8 ft lbs as in bearing caps for the cams same as gen 2 and 3 in torque settings

LOL @ Akane, he's only got a Gen II...Never mind Akane, one day you might have a real engine![]()
A gen 2?!
Do they still make parts for that?!
Actually they're not so bad. I hear that they were hand assembled in the factory!
But unfortunately, Homo habilis didnt quite have the brain development at this stage to do a good job.
BTW Caldina engines can also have the head removed without removing the cams.
Does the Caldina not have the cam angle sensor? I suppose it wouldnt. This is the part that is in the way the most, there's definitely no squeezing past that thing!

Still making more power than anyone here who still actually drives their MR2
