Yep id go with fangsport on that one, and we all know what many rotary owners/entusiasts are like

As for Rotary power I can vouch his a couple of his motors, i.e HVATOS, been for a ride in that, its a very good motor, Tony has done many many passes down the 1/4 with that motor without a single problem or a rebuild, bit of a testament to Rotary Power considering how Tony drives and how long that highly strung motor has lasted.

Nocamz are good, but are closing down.

You are right, lots of money to be lost if it goes pear shaped. If you are fairly confident in your mechanical skills, you could buy the rebuild DVD and attempt it yourself? Fairly easy if it is just a rebuild and no modifications are being made. Personally, if you do not have a mate who is close with an engine builder, I would just keep asking around - especially where people with similar set-ups went (as some builders are better at some things than others). Don't rush your decision.

Yup, everything you expect a rotary to be,
Fast,
unbelievabily noisy,
super hard on fuel,
and ugly, lol.

Not bad for a 330ish hp non-turbo

I've known Brendon, and moreso his younger brother for a few years now...I dont doubt he's good, but yeah...

I reckon I could do it, they're not that complicated an engine, but lack of garage space and time kinda means its not an option.
Dont worry, Im far from rushing it ;) I havent even got the car yet, thats how prepared I am ;)

As for Hayshed Rotaries - I thought you were taking the piss! Thats seriously their name??

1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar

Well without a doubt I would take it there. You know you are gonna get treated there alot better than anywhere else. He is still doing stuff for his friends / valued customers so its an option. Just do as much work you can yourself (e.g. take motor out and put back in) to keep the cost (and risk) down.

Brendans a good guy, I would have thought taking it there would be a no brainer?

Anyways, good luck with your decision, I'll shut up now :P

No, They are probably the best in the south island.

Paul Hayman
Paul Sheddan,

hence Hayshed rotaries.

they actaully both worked for dad at the toyota dealership years ago.

they have both been doing rotaries for more years than I can remember.

Bert is an old Toyota man from way back, he only became interested in rotaries after buying the ex-Allport car.........so he told me anyway.

not too sure if he builds the high-end motors, he has mentioned KiwiRE in conversation.

KiwiRE can't be too bad, the Puerto Ricans are buying from them.
