Postby tomo1985 » Tue Feb 14, 2006 2:11 pm

I have a AE111. I'v just noticed a squeak when i push my clutch in. It's not coming from the pedal its coming from the engine bay. Is there any thing i can do to stop this???

Feed the clutch mouse some cheese? :?

You might want to grease up the linkages and check your gearbox oil etc.

for squeaky clutch you don't need to check gearbox fluid level, but clutch fluid level, which is located nex to brake fluid container on firewall in the engine bay. Clutch fluid is usually dot3/4 brake fluid.

I had a sqeuaky clutch, replaced the clutch fluid and that fixed it, made the clutch feel nicer too... this was because I don't think the fluid had ever been changed and over time it absorbs moisture, degrading performance and leading to potential rust issues...

It squeaks when you push the clutch in but only as pushing it in not while its in or out.

Something to check though I'm not too sure if its applicable to this model. My GT-Four was making a similar sound and I tried everything only to find that the clutch pedal bracket mounted on the firewall in the cabin was tearing about the top mount for the pedal arm. Made a squeaking sort of noise and I eventually lost the ability to disengage the clutch. That is a barstard of a place to get to in that model as well!
