Ollie, there are many things you need to learn in life.
1. if you don't try, how can you then fail or succeed?
2. essentially, you're only out there to impress yourself and your first run won't be your fastest. if you do well, we'll be impressed, if you don't do so well, analyse why, and try to improve on your earlier attempts.
3. so what if you have a few spins and end up last, you're still out there having a go.
4. what makes you think you'll get 'owned' or 'shamed'? my young friend had the same attitude for last years event, he wasn't last, and had the most fun he has had in ages, and drove his car home in one piece.

ollieboy wrote:Yes, it was a very fun day, I enjoyed myself alot and although I didn't win or anything I kept on getting better each run apart from when I pushed my limits a bit too much and spun out It was all ok though.
It just makes me wonder why all these young people don't go along that say "Oh yeah I would waste you on a track au!" They don't even have a go.
Because even if you do really bad you have the most fun in a car (legally) that you can have while wearing pants.
fangsport wrote:to pull off stunts like that on the road would amount into the thousands in fines: sustained loss of traction, exessive acceleration, excessive speed, careless use..................etc.
the reason why guys don't want to play on the track is purely because they have told everyone how fast their car is, and don't want to prove how shite the owner is at driving. a fast car in a straight line dosn't always equal a fast car around corners, the KP60 (RIP) kept a few sorted cars honest..........aye Matt
