Yeah, that black R34 GT-R V-Spec sometimes comes to SSE monthly meets when he can get the time.
And if anyone told me there was a Murcialago outside of Armstrong Prestige on the day of the FoS i would have been there in a flash - bugger the crossing points!
Something interesting. Yesterday (Sunday) morning, from about 11am onwards, i heard all these loud cars drive past every now and then. I eventually stopped reading and looked out my window to see the black 1980's Porsche (from Wingatui - the same guy who used to have a 1960's Corvette) drive past (licence plate; '3.2 911' or something) followed by i think another Porsche (bright green, but without the big radiator thingy sticking out the back - so must have been an older one) follow behind it along with another one.
So this got me slightly interested - i spent the next hour or so looking out my window, the lounge window and standing out on the footpath by the road. Heaps of (mainly Euro) cars went past in that time and i've tried listing them below.
- Seven or so Porsches which looked the same shape as the black one from Wingatui (silver, bright green, maroon, grey or silver plus a few others)
- Two or so Porsches which had a flatter back than the above ones, looked like an earlier model (bright green etc)
- One new Porsche 996 Turbo, or one that looked very similar to a Turbo (silver) - would be the first one i've ever seen
- Heaps of Mercedes', old and new and some with the tops down.
- Few Audis and stuff i think.
- A red striped EVO V or VI (think it might have been the same one that parks in Andy Bay near KFC)
- Quite a few BMW's, including the maroon M6 that was at the FoS. Took off down the road after it left our street and sounded
bloody awesome - revving it right up.
- Couple of Jaguars i think.
Plus there were likely more that i didn't see/can't remember.
Point is, i've never seen so many Porsches before in my life, especially not ones of (seemingly) the same model/shape, first time i've ever seen a BMW M6 (apart from at the FoS - which was technically the first time) and i'm going to ring up a few people to try see what it was all about (a car club cruise more than likely, but they were seriously scattered so it may have been a rally or something).
Apart from the blue and white Dodge Viper (which is now back in the UK with it's owners) and the Countach replica, there has hardly ever been such flash cars come down our street.
Twas awesome.
