MrBob wrote:dunno what constitutes a car being called "g ay", the general impression I get is that theyre largly under-rated by most people who dont really seem to know much about em. Ive had comments like.. "wow, its got a turbo, they dont come factory like that do they ?" and.. "so the engines in the back but its front wheel drive ?" or, 'does it grip good being 4wd ?' Ive also read old magazine articles slagging them off for being upderpowered in stock form, or having too small an engine. With general impressions like this its easy to see why John Doe might think its a bit lame (ga y) when they see someone doing one up.... Like how we view 1500vtec civics with 18" chromes.. we're just ignorant to their hidden potential :D

you know it sounded good and well balanced until that last sentence...

Haven't been in a 1500, but the B16C and B18C are very very good, I havent driven any of the newer i-vtec cars, but I'm sure that they will be on par if not (a lot) better than any equivilent classed/cc rated engine

The 1500 SOCH vtecs are really really slow, like 4a-f slow. Although the one i went in had phat cromies on it, possibly slowing it down...

Lets not go there tho.

I want an SW20,but it must be black, mmmm blackness...

As for me, I guess driving an MR2 may make you a bit gay. But I think its more that you appear like that. You're the one who keeps trying to sneak into my room while I'm asleep! :P

Dammit, I try to make it look like I'm asleep! :P
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

I used to think i liked them, then i drove one and that put an end to that :?

If they are such a performance car and are better than evo/wrx's etc why do they not seem to be snapped up and get results from drag strips/tracks?

Because people get put off by the g.ay hairdresser stereotype, and dont get a chance to realise what they are capable of.

You are also limited to the stock e153 gearbox as well unless you want to pay a company like Hollinger to make you a box, not that really is a problem, they are tough enough for nine second passes 8)

Actually, I'm happy for most people to hate MR2's. I don't wanna see lots of dumb kids with sideways hats and rap music driving round round in MR2's ruining it for real enthusiasts. MR2's don't have a negative image like lots of other Japanese performance cars seem to and I like that.
