Hmmm. Was seriously considering the Mazda K series motor but acording to some engine dimensions I've found on the net, the motor is going to be too long to fit in the engine bay

If one of the most compact V6s around won't fit, then I doubt if there is anything else out there from Nissan, Mitsi etc that'll fit.

Maybe I should just stick a 3SGE in there :lol:

A v8 made from 2 hyabusa motorbike engines...Only got 370hp and revs to 10,000rpm.

ah less than I thought ($45K NZ). The RST is more like 20K pounds, but then I guess it does make 400hp, not a meagre 370

Thats for the engine alone. Bolted to a quaife, sat in a chassis and clothed is about 85k (UKP)... second hand.

nah just use the factory rover 'box, run carbs to save on the $$ of ecu, loom, sensors, tuning etc

Already have the Quaife straight cut close ratio gearset and Torsen diff for the box

The one for the V8 is not just a set of gears in a standard case... its a 6 speed sequential transaxle with an integral dry sump tank (for engine). Custom developed for that specific engine.

But if you want bang for buck... mid engine it and

1- V8 lotus engine (under 1000miles from new), race twin plate paddle clutch, road friendly.
porsche g50/50 transaxle, linkages, driveshafts. large twin turbos, custom exhaust, air to air intercoolers. 'gems' stand alone engine management (mappable) ready to fit!
will fit 4 cylinder chassis! absolute one off opportunity £7000 firm or engine, alone £3500,

Still its only 450 bhp. Perhaps bigger turbos? the GT1 spec engines were approximately double that using the same long block.
