I reckon the time will be a DNF, after it drops a piston

Well sooner or later anyway unless you plan on running 100+ octane through the engine, don't turn the boost up.

By the time the tow truck gets there it might be a 1 minute + 1/4.

Even my diesel starlet would own that.

No don't listen to these guys.
Tell your mate he'll be fine running 18psi+ on pump gas.
Should be good for a 13.5s pass or so...

Even more if he starts by sitting on the rev limiter, then slamming it into drive...

He may well be doing so, but it won't last for very long on pump gas. It will detonate and that's not good.

IME Caldina engine + detonation =

FWIW I ran 17psi until one hot day my #2 piston cried enough, despite being fed a diet of 98 octane.

You're welcome to try for yourself, you might just make it into the mid 14's with a tiptronic, but don't say you weren't warned

Gee a whole week, that's certainly plenty of time to determine it's safe (not)

How many full on 1/4 mile runs has he done it that time? Or is it all traffic light to traffic light stuff?

Like I said before mid 14's is all you can expect from a tiptronic, hardly worth blowing an engine for now is it?

But of course you could choose to believe it's safe and carry on regardless, so I will quit wasting time trying to educate you on the dangers of high boost and late model 3S-GTEs

no boost, no bishes :(
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

You've obviously mistaken me for someone that give a sh!t, which I can assure you I don't... but while you and your mate may be beyond help, someone else might just pause and think, then realise it's not a good idea

Maybe you're the kind who can't WRITE in english, let alone convey an adequate warning message to a so called 'mate'. Glad you're not my 'mate' that's for sure.

14's crusing. but why 18psi? why not just pull the vacuum hose off of the actuator. it will b sweet ;) oh and like mentioned, rev limit, then drive... its the only way to launch an auto.
