Postby ke_25 » Sun Apr 16, 2006 10:08 pm

Can you still run central locking with solex locks? some one itld me you cant, but i dont see why not as it is effectively just chnaging the barrels. cheers

I cant see why it would affect central locking, as you say, its just replacing the barrels.

if changing them doesnt effect the lock button on the inside then it shouldnt do anything to central locking

will work fine except when you have the lock on deadlock as far as im aware. If you do go for solex, make sure you install well, as its still not much harder than a normal lock to rip the unit out and open the car.

Im not sure if all the solex models have deadlock capability, or not, but essentially, its when you turn the key all the way one way, take out, and it can only be unlocked with the key- not from the inside, or via central locking servo. It also has a normal lock function which will be ok.

considered just putting an alarm with central locking and diabling the exterior lock latch?, imo, a slightly more secure method.
