Altezza - Which one?

Postby zebisgsr » Thu Apr 13, 2006 9:38 pm

Hey all,

Looking at selling the GSR and possibly buying an Altezza. Been looking at all the options and basically set on the 3S-GE, 6 speed manual. (so the RS200 Z edition) from what I understand.
I see there is a 'L' edition which I dont know if we get here or not? (leather, electric seat etc)
Whats the fuel economy like? - from the specs it looks to be worse than my turbo 4wd, and im guessing its because of the weight? 1360kg's! How come the altezza's are so heavy? RWD? and....?

Im also a little confused with the front bumper/kit. There seems to be 3-4 different variants, not specific to year or model.

I like this look

I dont like this look

Is there a difference in models between these two??

Basically the plan is to move to a non-turbo car for a bit. Should be cheaper to run city driving compared to the GSR? (GSR does have some mods)

Any other cool things Altezza's have? - Like a fold down or half-fold down rear seat? Decent cup holder? :? ..etc

Cheers all,

yes, altezza.... i might wanna get one but strangely i wanna get the tiptronic RS, cos i am too lazy to clutch in and out on motorway jam...

the top one is the altezza with TRD bodykit and the bottom one is factory standard... L Edition would be Luxury package with leather seat, not sure about electric seat...
Cheers...

The top one has what is known as the "Legana" front bar. More bodykit info in this thread over at the Altezza Club.

There's a little info on my site (click sig), but there's far more around the Altezza club.

I went out looking with my mate for one over the last month...we saw shiz loads of beams tezzas. the tip tronic ones were harder to get than the manual (he didnt want manual). so many being imported into the country now, and quite a lot begining to be re-sold.
Cant believe im still a member here.

They're all 'BEAMS', therefore looking for BEAMS is irrelevant.

As ecc0 suggests, it's probably the RS200 (SXE10) 2.0 L 4-cyl 3S-GE that you're after.

Not sure if someone can answer here but,

Ive seen two different dashboard layouts, one with the speedo on the right and rev counter in the centre (least common) and one with the rev counter on the right and speedo in the centre (most common)

eg;

Whats the deal there? (I think the second photo is an auto but its the same with the manual)

Top dash is Modellista, think it comes on the Qualitat model (aftermarket tuner). Most of the Qualitats seem to be AS200 though.

just a quick question, does AS200 come with Tiptronic? cos i saw a few AS200 that has the tiptronic button on the steering, would it be 5 speed or 4 speed auto?
Cheers...
