MOMO Boss kit wont turn off indicators

Postby TruenoBZG » Sun Apr 23, 2006 6:24 pm

For my AE111, Ive been told its a common hiccup with installing boss kits, how can I figure out to position it right so it will turn my indicators off after turning corners?

Ive tried a few different positions but to no avail - and now its getting extremely annoying because I have to pull my wheel off everytime I want to change it

Also, are there any surrounds I can buy to cover the small gap which the kit doesnt cover around the steering column?

Thanks

You might not have the holes in the back of the bosskit in the right place to line up with your indictators.

IE, you might need to drill need ones, or enlarge the ones you already have.

In my HKB boss kit I had to drill new holes, as the ones that were already there were FAR too close together.

Try it again, and if you can't get the pins on the stalk thingee to line up with the holes, measure the distance between the pins, and then the holes on the boss kit, should be the same.

So the pins on the stalk/column should line up with the hole/gap in the boss kit?

Also, there is only ONE pin on my column, not two.....

Also, when I first tried it, i remember it turned one side of the indication off, so I know its working OK, I just need to get it right.

I would say, take the boss kit off, put indictors on, and try to turn that pin around until it clicks the indicators off, i would say you have moved that pin right around, so that it doesnt go far enough to turn one side off. I would guess you would have to spin the pin a full circle (or two) one direction to get it to evenly click the indicators off each side.

lol, did that make sense?

And yup, the pin should go into the hole in boss kit

Ahh cool man thanks for that explanation, its getting a little clearer...

So if i turn that pin around, it should turn the indicators off, WITHOUT my car being turned on?
Thats all I really need to know because I can figure it out from there, I didnt realise I could activate that pin that turns them off even when my car wasnt going...

I cant remember the pin being able to be turned around actually.... but i think the plastic outside it did, which didnt turn them off...

I done a Momo kit. Was a real pain in the arse. If you have no intentions of removing the wheel just glue the pins in the holes of the boss kit lol. That works...

Its a mechinal (man my spelling is shocking) thing, so yeah, it won't need power to work, as the pin goes around it "pushs" the indicator out of its slot thing and returns it to center making the indicators turn off.

And yes, i think you have to push the pin/plastic IN as you turn to make them click off (this is if you have no boss kit on).

It might be fairly hard to click them off just turning the pin, as the leverage will be small.

If it all fails, can you get a pic of it to chuck up?

He means just the boss kit, so I guess you could do that, you would still be able to bolt new wheels onto the kit.

yup.

You will need to drill out holes that fit the bumps.
