Silverstream, near Invermay. Unfortunately got here way too late.
Because that (green lines) is where the water
was up to.
Again
Bridge to Outram Glen (its not that unusual to see it underwater though, as it happens in all the floods)
Taieri river
That whiteish line thingy is where the ground drops down a few metres to where the river normally is...
Well and truely over the floodbank
Just about 110, whatever 110 is (can't be 110 metres so maybe it is nine point nine metres deep?
Paddocks on the Taieri Plains
Filled in ditch on Dukes Road near Fisher & Paykel etc
Same road, but beside the A&P Showgrounds
We did make it into Dunedin but my camera batteries went flat, even though i thought i did get a couple of pictures in.
St. Clair beach had the biggest waves i'd ever seen, they were huge, and continuously crashing against the Esplainade (even when in a car you could feel them hitting the wall) and the splashes from them were completely SOAKING houses across the street not to mention the cars on the road. There was seaweed etc everywhere on the roads and later on we noticed a few whitebait on top of the car.
That was truely an awesome sight though, wish i could have stayed there longer.
The Leith was way down when we got there too unfortunately.
