3t = 1g gte help please

Postby L0w_st4rlet » Tue Apr 25, 2006 6:59 pm

change of plans just got car out of inpound and am proceding with the plans of engine conversion. I am ditching the 3tgte and have aquired a full reg and warrented mkIII supra adj boost rebuilt turbos 3" exhaust manual and am going to put the engine and gearbox into my car. Planning on using supra fuel system in my coronas fuel tank. will this work? also for mounts I was just going to grind my X-member smooth and cut complete mounts off supra X-member and get engineer to weld them on to my corona X-member when its all dummied up in the car and also get him to make up gearbox X-member. will i need to shorten driveshaft going from t50 to W series? what will be needed in wiring as most will be just a transfer from car to car correct? What size intercooler will be best with single turbo in mind? I have been told the corona diffs are quite heavy and i presume it will handle ther power already has a LSD in it. How are the turbos cooled would I use supra oil cooler if they are oil cooled or go with an aftermarket option? what boost can these handle would it pay to get a link or microtech or just a piggyback ecu? any suggestions welcome please no hipocrits just looking for help in the conversion also anyone running one of these engines what are some mods that bring positive returns. cheers

You'd get more answers if you thought out ur post better, but that aside.

I'd worry about the prop shaft having a differant spline on the output shaft rather than the length. (can't recal which ones are interchangable).
As for boost i personally wouldn't run anything over 12, without considering changeing to GZE pistons.

Ahh. Yes, they have an oil cooler. (i believe). Just get a decent plumbing system on it and she should go nicely for you. Oh, and your turbos will pop at 12psi, they are $&#$% useless. Replace with a single CT-20.
