If it is, I see your "suicide at 50k" and raise you 10kph.

$3500
-$1000 excess
-$1500 for replacment pole and install
= 1000

I took out a big chunk of fencing with my car (went through it backwards at about 100kph... Its GM straight so I was allowed ), they paid me out the value of the car, and ALSO paid the cost of the fence which was in the region of 2.5K.

I wouldn't. Not the best in the wet by the looks.

Back to the topic - I can see how potentially a car could have an oops there, however you must have been doing SOMETHING to convince it to. Cars dont tend to lose all traction and fly into power poles at under 50kph unless you're provoking them to, or you're on ice.

It wasn't that bad however and if i had a good criminal lawer looking back i doubt i would have been charged in the end. I did pleed guilty both times under some bad advise.
I still have a good insurance record having never claimed for anything i have caused. If your with state and they write off your car... i doubt they will offer you more insurance on your next purchase. They seem to do that after a total loss situation. I know peope who have been there.
GO AND SEE A REPUTAL LAWER BEFORE YOU ACCEPT LIABILTY!!!
altho i think you already have

1. NEVER EVER EVER (Even if hell is freezing over) accept liability

This crash aint the fault of FWD this crash is because nobody ever taught you what to do if you step a FWD out.
