Need to select a good priced piston manufacturer for my new traitorous V6 project.
I want to build the first v6 cheaply and use it as a testbed. Upon proof of concept I'll develop a second much higher spec engine. Unfortunately the current pistons have little dome and I need to bump compression in the range of 13:1 as I'll be running silly duration.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. So far I have tried.
In CHCH, we have
Denco- which apparently are heavy.
Proturn- that doesnt appear to have a race history.
States
Crower, good pistons, but will be about 2.4k for a full set.
Arias, good pistons, slightly cheaper
Wiseco
Ausi
ACL, have heard good things about their bearings, but bad things about their cast pistons, hopefully their forged product is better.
anywhere in Ausi or NZ I should consider?
