Wow, encouraged to ticket two people an hour... interesting.

Ok let’s 'assume' the average ticket is for $100.00, so that is $200.00 an hour and over an eight our shift that is $1600. I'm not sure how many Police officers there are, however if we were to say 5,000* (lets hope some are off duty or solving nasty crime) So that is 8,000,000.00 in a working day. And to be fair that isn't going to be too realistic so let chop a couple of million off that for safety sake.

So 6 million times 365 days.... $2,190,000,000.00 8O Wow!

So if those are real figures (which of course they are assumed by the writer of this post) imagine the potential the police force has for paying its way. Crickey no wonder all you young guys get targeted. You have lots of deposable income pay this quota/target. Hrmmm Sounds like a good business plan to me. 8O

*The effective strength of the police at 30 June 1999 was 6,908 sworn personnel, giving a full-time equivalent (FTE) of 6,876 sworn officers (6,760 at 30 June 1997).

But really.

If you're doing nothing wrong, and your car is all legit then what do you have to worry about?
I'm lucky enough not have gotten a ticket, and my car (up until recently) looked really dodgy. Multi coloured, mags, blah blah blah. The key was to not drive like a total retard. That's saved me a lot of money...

Frankly. If you're doing something wrong, then I hope you get a ticket. As for the day when I get caught doing something silly. I will accept the ticket, know that I got caught breaking the law.
And the day I get a bollocks ticket cause some cop felt like it, I will scream blue murder. But since the majority of the policing force are actually out there trying to stop stupidity, I'm not really worried...

Well it sucks to be young and have a like for modifying your car... 8O Hrmm. Like many have said. Drive within the law, have a totally legal car then fingers crossed when you do feel you've been ‘victimised’ you have a legal leg to stand on.

Failing that be like my 18 year old brother who has a 1989 CRX with body kit, 18" wheels, loud exhaust, tinted windows (every thing is legal), drives at 150 in a 100 and feels hard done by and picked on when he get an instant lose of license for 28 day for the speed. Well come on. What a fool he is, along with most of his mates in a very similar situation.
Or my 17 year old brother who lost his license for 3 months for speeding and having a car that has been butchered by him and his mates. Thinks it's "not fair Chelles, they just pick on me". yeah right. Drawing attention to yourself is going to get some unwanted attention, but my darling little brothers (like many others) can't see it, and don't understand the reality of actions and consequences. How the young (and young at heart) can be blind…

f00ls!!

Funny...
I was 22, in a three colour ae85/6 with no rear interior, lowered on kings, with mags, with a fresh 4age (and not yet certed) conversion. I got spotted speeding (but not clocked) and then was seen slipping the back end out around a round about (4AGE was a gooooood upgrade over a 3AU), when I got pulled over.
Cop asked for my license, checked it. Asked if I'd just had a new exhaust put on. I said yes, after all I had. Got told that he could smell it. Said good night and off he drove...
So you can understand why I'm sceptical about peoples complaints...
