i didn't know they were too short for the shock. only costs $50 or something to shorten the shocks so its all good. gives it nice handling in the front anyway.

Bollux. A lot of turbo Hondas in NZ have been done rangi by people who want "turbs vtex y0", and often on stock compression which leaves very little margain for error.

Ones that have the bottom end made boost friendly take (as you'd expect) a shit load of punishment - and go VERY hard. I know a few people who have turbo Hondas even on the stock motors which are nastier than any Toyota I have been in (yes, I've been in JZA80 TT Supras) running naff all boost.

When you look at something like the 10s Integra down south, that motor has been going strong - it is running a turbo friendly bottom end (yes, low compression)... its the vastly superior head design which is behind the higher power on lower boost.

it would make sense that the head design had a lot to do with it ,they seem to consistently make more power n/a and the difference would be exaggerated with forced induction.
theres also a shitload of other things to consider as well, such as size of the turbocharger chosen. just a shame they come in such ugly cars

Why do honda motors seem to make a whole heap more power at the same boost???

if you put the same turbo on a b18c same compression etc I think power levels would be very similar. Also my compression is around 7.85:1.
Also honda cams are much more agressive as well in standard form.

Yep - I'd agree with that, depending on the efficiency map etc. You'd need less boost to make the same power - but seeing as you'd be running more boost on yours, it SHOULD fatten up the midrange as well.

The B18C is likely to operate in a slightly different area of the compressor's efficiency due to it being able to go to higher airflow levels for a given pressure ratio.

That honda is Bruce's car. He made 430WHP at 18psi. He since got a job for Stone Brothers racing development in Aussie so isnt in NZ anymore. He is a very humble guy. I think from meory he had a Precision TO4E with a 60 trim wheel and .63 exhaust A/R.
