Heating ideas

Postby ollieboy » Sun Jul 23, 2006 6:36 pm

My brother has and 89 familia. The heater doesn't work and its bloody cold down here, we tried flushing out the heater core and the hoses but we are going to have to remove the dashboard to do it properly. Its a crap car and we don't want to waste our time on it so we were thinking what other ways can you heat a car.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers

Open door, pour in petrol, stand back, throw in match.

Quite effective.

if it flushed through fine, which Im assuming it did since you say you did this, I would look at the two above. may just be the cable to the valve/tap from the controls. Had this issue on the aw11.
not much hassle, and if too much then yeah, put more clothes on lol.

Yeah the heater core is blocked, but to unblock it we need to remove the dash and its too much hassle so we wanted some other method. Will double check to see if it is heater controls though cheers.

Cut a hole in your floor and exhaust (que grinder) and duct a 90 degree from your exhaust to your cabin.

Thats if your too fat and lazy to do the job properly.

Its not that I'm lazy (much), but its not worth doing much to the car, its getting near the end of its life.

Make sure the thermostat is working as well. Just flush the core using the heater hoses off the block - no need to pull the dash out.
See ya
