quick SC12 clutch q

hey guys, as some should know i was trying to buy an sc12 from this site a couple of months ago to put on my mini - well is all on there and almost ready to start i just got 1 quick question i did a search but couldnt find what i wanted,

for the clutch do i just giv it a 12V supply? it needs to be on all the time as its a suck through setup

yep, 12v that is what it needs. it works the same way as any other A/C clutches...

umm its actually an 1990 MG Metro 1300 engine, they come factory turbo all the internals are the same, the turbos just have a bigger oil pump (to feed the turbo) just dropped the compression a bit - also my crank pully is a little smaller than the levin the chage came off so it wont be running the full boost

what is the standard boost for a levin? it came off a fwd think it was about a 92 model

around 8 psi factory.

You realise that a S/C is a positive displacement pump so boost preswsure has nothing to do with what they run on a Levin.
Your engine is 300cc less and probably wont flow as well as the 16V head,
and the boost is dependant on the restriction of airflow through the engine,

so even though you are spinning it slower, you may end up with a higher boost.

Only real way to tell is to run it,
or find the VE of your engine and a really clever bastard to work it out.

hahah not the most clever guy - im guna start it up for the 1st time this week i hope, just gotta wire all my guages up and suss the top engine mount (to short the rear manifold is sitting to close to the firewall)

probly guna cut and thread it to make it adjustable
