rebuild ct26 or move up to a ct20b??????????????

the gt4 i brought has play in the shaft what should i do??
has any one got a ct20b?
can you get full steel shafts for a ct26?
any help would be greatly appreciated!

go straight to a ct20b , do not pass go , do not collect 200$

can get steel shaft ct26 but they still are too small.

You can buy steel shafts for the CT26's, ~$300 I think...but if you were going to do that, you might as well highflow it at the same time, which will cost ~$1400 depending on who you go to, and if you were gonna do that, you might as well go to the CT20B brand new from Mr Revhead.
Conclusion: Get the CT20B, you wont regret it.

The CT20b is the better of the two...
but for 1989 technology the CT26 is a good turbo, parts are avail for them
(compressor & Turbine wheels & shaft Full rebuild kits,) and they are easily to upgrade compressor (ish i have done about 6-8 46trim T04E upgrades (even on a brand spanking new Landcruiser CT26)

where as the CT20b we cant yet get Compressor & Turbine wheels
all that is avail is kits.

conclusion. CT20b is the bestter turbo.
the Ceramic Gen3 MR2/ST205 standard road car will spool quicker, But cant really run high boost for toooo long.
the Steel CT20b from the ST205 Group A Homologation version (which is the one Mr Revhead can get & i have one in stock at work) is alittle lagger but can run higher boost more relaibly.

mmmm interesting idea.. i know of one person who used the turbine housing off the Gen2 mr2/ST185 Celica 3sgte on the 7mgte in a 4x4 hilux... the CT20b would work well ... but it might drop off up the top end.

The white 7M-GTE Supra with a "large" single entry CT26 with upgraded comp wheel, was gaining on my MR2, so I believe if you have one of those, you're way better off with an upgraded wheel.

Second hand ones go for about $500 - $800 ish ... Dont quote me.

The CT20b will bolt up in place of the MR2/Celica CT26 turbo
all that you need to do is remove 1 Stud from the outlet of the CT20b
or get a Aussie or simmar down pipe with the 7 bolt outlet.

Sorry, my bad, yes 1G-GTE that's right, I was dropping my jaws as to how a 2L "CT26" was killing me at high speed.

Then I found out that he has the "huge single entry" version with upgraded wheel, I didn't feel so bad after.
