basically post up all the pics or stories of anything you've killed in the search of speed/performance.

Ill start with my mate (absolute retard) who was driving his blacktop bz-touring carib (now houses his 3rd, yes 3rd blacktop) at redline in 4th, went to change to 5th, slipped and hit 3rd.....

Rose Gearbox. 6 Races - 5 Rebuilds. $1.7k Albins gearset mainshaft destroyed, dog teeth ripped off fist gear, first gear synchro, main shaft bearing collapsed, shifted first second gear selector fork on the shaft, ripped the teeth off the pinion (Quoted 12k US for replacement CWP from manufacturer).

Toyota 4age 16 valve, 3 seasons of redline + racing, replaced oil every race or 2 hour of use whichever the larger, never missed a beat.

Toyota 4age 20 valve, radiator plumbed up the wrong way (wasnt me I was in London) while racing siezed engine (wouldn't turn over while dumping the clutch in top gear at 80 odd kph. Returned to CHCH from Woodhill Auckland, pulled engine, noted flywheel turning, put it back in and raced another two races on that engine!! Mobil 1 rocks!
The answer is Helmholtz!

i claimed a turbo at manfield a couple of weeks back.
turns out it slipped an intercooler pipe off , but was still getting 0.7 bar boost somehow 8O
overspun the turbo and the result is quite ugly. compressor wheel shouldnt be folded back like it is :?

i also discovered after removing it , a crack right through the exhaust housing , between the internal wastegate port and turbine. seems to have originated from when the internal gate was welded shut. see if you can spot it , is just visible in about the middle of the pic , but is far more obvious in person.

Ahhhh, that guy...he came in to work complaining about how expensive cars were
Did he manage to sell the head in the end?

Somewhere around I have the remnants of a ceramic CT26 exh. wheel, it makes a good paperweight. Also had a 12A housing which had several nasty gouges from where the apex seal let go...

How the hell did you bust 3 16v 4AGE's??

Did you pour concrete mixer in with the oil or something??? :?
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Did this 8 times, broke one driveshaft and 2 axles, with only 8000km's worth of street use.

I love my new G code rear end.

I vote pics or it didn't happen.
Flygt4, that crack is pretty common there, probably goes a fair way up the valute, and may not be too much of a problem.

This is from my 4k. Has an air leak around the o ring from the carb to manifold.... Sounded like the drive shaft was smashing around inside the tunnel.

Out of my dads Chevy V8. Missed a gear (only reved to 7000) and broke a valve off. That smashed the other one off and they both ended up stuck in the ports.
The pistons only good for an ash tray now
