gearbox issues - k40(A series) on 4age

Postby rwd_mayhem » Tue Aug 29, 2006 7:31 pm

my gbox is getting nearly impossible to get in 1st when stationary while engine is running, it is impossible to get in reverse. its easier to get in2 1st while the car is moving. has my 4age already blown my standard 4spd? i havnt even driven it a week.

check your clutch adjustment, but chances are its rooted. they dont last long if theyre in poor condition

check your clutch adjustment, it might not be engaging far enough, ive heard of cases where you need to make a spacer between clutch fork and bearing, i think this is your problem.

Correction made.

The clutch is not letting go to allow the syncro's to work.

Clutch issue not a box issue.

How does the pedal feel?

i had a similar problem, just put a spacer behind your thrust bearing to help it go foward a bit more, works a treat

to be honest i can't remember exactly where the spacer was, i think it was just behind the bearing itself

i can't remember how k50's look, its been so long since i blew that box and threw it away haha
