Kinda hard to say. Newer stuff I think in kW but older stuff I usually compare in my head using hp. Toyota stuff in hp makes little sense to me until i think about it in kW and vice verca for old dinosaurs (not that they ever actually have a kW rating)

When someone says "200hp" i can understand what there on about, as aposed to someone saying "170BBQ" kW.
So personally, i prefer HP as i understand it.

KW for preference, just because I've spent far too many years reading car magazines that always quote them. I sometimes try converting bhp to KW when someone is bragging about their power but usually don't bother (instead I just nod and say "that's nice..." )
We know that four-wheel drive doesn't work in a racing car, and I proved to myself that it doesn't work very well for rallycross. I'm absolutely convinced that it has no future in rallying, either, even if the regulations allowed it. - Roger Clark (rallying legend), circa 1976

Up until recently, I always work in hp, then now I work in rwkw.

God bless Amerika.

My sentiments exactally. Especially when you have an 88kw car ... 2 figure numbers sounds slow, 'I've got 120hp' sounds so much better :P

I like Kw.. coz its always more impressive when you have more of them, especially when you work it out in Hp for all the people that like to speak that language...

Hp makes more sense though..

I'm comfortable with both really. You see them both everywhere these days!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

kw > hp, though it would be close, ive always kind of used both of them.
gt4 u can change between them and no actual conversion happens. So my 800hp skyline is now a 800kw skyline :D
