Yeah bang for buck FI is always gonna be a better option, but there is something rather satisfying about an NA motor that makes 200+hp over 10,000rpm 8)

Yeah Turbo Power is very cheap when you compare. But as Mmm, Boost says 200hp and 5 digit Revs are Cool 8)

Oh and nice pics NZAE86, are you staying with the carbs to keep it 'factory'!?

Yep staying with the 48mm carbs for the moment , see how drivable the thing will be first , otherwise may go efi .
Still reckon that 11500RPM will sound better than a hair drier any day !!! .
Horsepower doesn't always win races , may help a slow driver though!

If there's anything I've learnt over the years, its that fast =! fun.

To date, the most *fun* car I've ever driven, is still a 4k powered KP starlet.

Which is possibly the worst handling, slowest car of the bunch. :)

NA will never match turbos in terms of HP per dollar, or overall HP, but that doesnt mean they are necessarily any more or less fun.

After owning nearly everything engine configuration except a Rotary , I would have to agree....

Out of all the cars I've owned , which have included a 400Hp Turbo , a tweaked V8 , and many other randoms, my 5k hybrid KP60 was BY FAR the most "FUN" car to drive. Even my 1200 Datsun Ute was an absolute blast to drive , and that was with the 1200cc boat anchor in it. It was the fact it was still able to hang the back out , and do all the crazy things you wanted , but it was STILL predictable. Having more HP in the thing doesn't make it MORE fun for me , it makes it MORE unpredictable , which takes away from the fun.

But in saying that , I am putting a 1UZFE into something that weighs 700Kg ...
I'm all for tapping it and gapping it... but how fast does her father run?

One of the most fun cars i drove was a Non turbo FJ20 powered sunny that I drove once. You can beat the response of an NA car, especially one with really high comp ratio. makes it fun,

However after spending large amount of cash on the car, the owner eventually put a turbo on it as he was sick of battling in the midfield on clubdays.

That was a few years before anti-lag was around.

Have never driven a car with anti-lag.
My car has it, but dont use it on the circuit.
One day I might give it a try????
