the seats slightly very in size dosnt matter spring still fits just a matter of using or not using the rubber part on the seat.
Im using TRD shocks that were listed for AE92-AE111 the front incerts went into the factory housing, On the rear im using a TRD housing that was made to fit a ae92 it works just dosnt have a bracket for the ABS wire, they all fit its just a veration of brake line holders and ABS brackets.

ae101 and ae111 are the same shocks and springs

we are trying to find out if/how ae101/111 shocks and springs fit into an ae92

dont want to hear anything about ppl having the springs side by side and saying they are exactly the same, coz they arnt and the 101/111 springs dont fit the ae92 properly

basicly the aim of this is to see how we can get later model stuff that is still availible to replace parts which are no longer made for the ae92

AE101/AE111 springs have a slightly fater base, on a AE92 strut "low" king springs, and Tein AE101/AE111 springs sat tightly in the lip of the shock It woudlnt come out but it didnt fit down flush against the base surface and this is with out the rubber on the seat. but... King super lows listed for a AE111 sat down on the seat astho it was made for it.

so the veriation is very small, fronts I never went into it, this was because the inserts bolted into stock houstings, while the rears are welded up.

as for the struts it all comes down to were the mounts are located for bolting on brake lines and all.

i do know for a fact that AE111 springs have a larger diameter than AE92 ones, and in turn, the spring housing is larger to accomodate this (this was rears of a BZG)
i put an AE92 spring into the AE111 housing, and it rattled around even with the rubber bit in

We successfully swapped a few AE92/AE82 front complete struts with AE101/AE111 the only difference is how brake hose is clamped to the strut (not a major).

yeah i thought the fronts would swap easy
its the rear i dont know about. in particular if the 101/111 tophats fit or if you have to use the 92 hats, and if so do the 101/111 springs fit the 92 tophats?

I have a AE92 which i stuck 101 springs in the front and they fit fine, also had a look at 111 springs they appear slightly shorter than 101 springs, dunno though if super strut makes any difference to the springs.

I have ae82 front struts with ae101 Jamex springs. They fit fine and do their job. Only problem is on full lock the springs make a click noise which means they dont sit properly I guess. But they are fine otherwise.

I put GAB shocks from my AE92 fxgt into my AE101 20v Marino.
FRONT - AE101 springs fitted fine onto the AE92 GAB shocks/struts. As mentioned the bracket to hold the brake line is different.

REAR - AE101 springs DON'T fit the AE92 GAB shocks/struts. The base of the spring is too wide for the bottom spring perch. I didn't want to use the AE92 springs because the were softer than the AE101 springs.

I used ST182 rear springs as their base diameter is same as AE92. I used them with about 0.8 of the bottom coil cut off so the car had the same ride height at the rear. I also wanted a higher spring rate at the rear to balance the handling. With the modified ST182 springs the rear went from about 160lb/inch up to 200lb/inch.

NOTE - As far as I can see front and rear AE101 shocks/struts and springs will bolt straight into AE92. Only issue is front brake hose brackets.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

front brake hose brackets are currently modified (via a hammer) to accomodate the superstrut calipers that i have fitted ;)

ie hoses didnt reach, so i bashed the bracket with a hammer until it was in the right'ish position

Front ae92/ae101 same

Rear ae92 smaller bottom bucket for spring than ae101. Also different tophat, mounts on a different angle to the chassis (only really slight, you could get away with using ae101 top hats in ae92 but I wouldnt recommend).

To fit front ae101 suspension in ae92, front is straight swap, either ae92 or ae101 parts mix n match

to fit rear ae101 in ae92, must use ae101 strut and coil, use ae92 top hat :D

np I was trying for ages to get trd coils for ae92, but had to get ae101 as trd dont make the ae92 coils anymore.

That is what I did to fit them in my car
