yeah saw it on NZH , looks like an awesome idea. 2jz into everything :D

most of the hondas guys werent particularly for it , they seem to prefer to tweak the f20c a bit. while they are a pretty cool engine , itll never have anything on a 2jz.
im all for it, one of the torqiest japanese engines in a light rwd car , hell yeah :D would be hilarious.

Monkeys huh?

Last time I looked at the thread the comments weren't so much putting down the 2JZ, so much as looking at it from a purist view - there is definitely something bad arse about a motor which revs to 9,000rpm all day every day. Definitely one of the most memorable drives I've had was driving an S2000 which at the time was one of the better known Hondas in "the scene".

Wonder what the thoughts would be if someone upgraded a JZA80 to a Chev GenIII....

Hahaha, someone asking if its power potential would surpass that of a boosted F20C

Interesting conversion but I would probably prefer to keep it F20C...Lith is right, 9000rpm on a daily basis would be freakin cool :D

+1 for keep the F20C. 8)

Also BTW, most badass conversion into a toyota that I've seen, is the work in progress 1GZFE (AKA Toyota Century 5.0 V12) into a supra on toymods. :D

Damn, a Honda with godly power and reliability, what's going on here?
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

A 1UZTTFE isn't the equivalent sacralidge though....

I personally think the 2JZGTE S2K is very very cool, I'd hit it. Maybe a 1JZGTE one that revs to 9krpm?

Wasn't meaning it in the way you took. Although I can see how I could easily have been misunderstood. Apologies.

As for JZA80s... they are poos anyway.

I was quite surprised with how well it fit in there. The 2J is a much bigger engine and I expected it to be much like that AE85, with a majority of the engine hanging forward of the strut towers, but the S2000 design is pretty good, having them quite far forward.
Regardless, I still expected the 2J to be within centimetres of the radiator but theres heaps of room.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

can definately see both sides of the coin, it is one of the best n/a engines , their nsx engines are up there too as some of the best and most efficient out there.
to the hondas boys its probly equivalent to putting a 13b in an ae86 tho

that video captures the 2jz sound sooo well too , all the best jza80's ive been sounded exactly the same

well not really, but still, a chev would be cool, stacks of torque.

i dont see why theyd rather an n/a 2litre over a twin turbo 3litre...

and its not like it debalances the car, look where those strut towers sit!

Odd thing ive noticed between toyspeed and nzhondas, nzhondas are all about the last inch of power, all the best for the race car (in short all top end)

where as it seems the toyspeed boys like (even a little) luxuary, and dont care about another possible 2kw.... oh, and love their torque :D.

thats a massive general comment though

probly due to the abundance of larger displacement turbocharged cars available to the toyota fan.
honda fans dont really have much to choose from except low displacement n/a screamers :D

you'll find all the 4age nuts are the same mindset as the honda guys, wheres its every last pony counts and shave every last kg
