The Kelford weld built up cams in my race 4age are approaching 10 years old and dont have a single mark on them. For the massive lift and duration of these cams, and the abusive RPM the engine sees constantly I think the reliability isnt in question. I have heard some horror stories about HKS, much as you pretty much will hear about any brand.
In regards to performance, dont ignore a brand just because it isnt fashonable. My race 4age performs stunningly for what it is. I think Kelford have done a fantastic job building up a huge cam that produces power exactly where I required it.
In regards to measurement, I think they mean a ramp to ramp measurement is only an indicator of what a cam will do. Its really false advertising. Measurement at 10 or 50 thou is what you want to be looking at. It gives a much better indication of how the cam will perform. They could also mean that they really are off in regards to lobe measurement. Some time ago Kelford were well known for having poor measurement themselves "Kelford mystery sticks" however they appear to have it nailed now. Unlike Franklin who are miles out!
