ae85 brake booster - bigger brakes

I am running ae86 front discs and RPs13 rear discs in my ae85.

Is my standard ae85 brake booster up to the task?

If so - great.

If not - what will fit the bolt pattern as a suitable upgrade?

Obviously ae86 will fit and will be good enough. Cant find one though.

Gts-t skyline fit but i dont want to bash my strut to fit it in.

Any help appreciated

Yeh itll be fine, just get a new mastercylinder. I Run Cressida and VR4 brakes off my stock master and booster, work perfectly.

ae86 one is the same i think looking at the two, dont need to worry about the booster anyway its only for an easy peda feel, its the master that does the pushing

but if you've going to buy a new one get a good one, and be prepared to pay. i paied $40 for one and it sh!t out in about a year. new ones are normally around $200+ though...

master cyls come in a range of differnt bore sizes, genrally the larger bore size the larger the braking system as u need to displace more fluid to push the larger or extra pistons. usually u can get away with no upgrade. but if u go from one extreme to another u can end up with a long brake pedal travel. and they can be very expensive!

There is nothing wrong with my old master apart from being 20yrs old.

Does anyone know if toyota do an overhaul kit? That way i would be able to re-co mine for a fraction of the cost of a new master cyl

you can get new seal kits, about $25 from repco. not sure what they would cost from toyota but shop around anyway.
