Look here on Garage Dori for lexan thread (DO NOT believe some of the weight reduction quoted).

Is it going to be for a road going racecar?
If not, then just buy some polycarbonate... much cheaper... I put 3mm thick in the back and side windows of my racecar.
Lexan is just polycarbonate with a special coating to reduce scratching. Be careful with polycarb and it will last ages (4 years on my racecar so far).

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

your nearest glass place should be able to supply you either lexan or polycarb - your choice

A sheet of 3mm polycarb cost about $280 trade about 3 years ago. I think lexan is 2 or 3 times this cost?
1 sheet did side and rear glass of my carina.

Warning: if you are going to be putting plastic glazing into a road going car, you *must* use Lexan MR10 and nothing else.

thats my thread, and yes i was on the piss when i quoted those numbers. hehe. the bonnet is actually half of what i said.. i think i changed it? but other than that its correct. (remember the actual panels only have the outer skin thus why so light.)
yea if u not using lexan MR10 then its not that expensive. i think it was 690$ for a 1.2x2.5m 3mm sheet of MR10 and then i had to get a little extra on top of that.
