written off is an insurance term

go to the aa and take both the plates and registration card. you will have to declear the car as either damaged beyond repair, permanently off the road, etc, etc

you can also get a refund of your registration if you still have any left.

sorry miss read the question basically bent chassis, extensive damage to non replaceable panels (i.e not front quarter, doors, glass, boot, etc)

or if the car is old they will just pay you 'market value' which unfortunatly is sfa

throw an old stereo in dude, they will keep everything... you wont get your stereo back... take anything off it you want but just make sure it looks stock when your finished... theres no harm in taking out a stereo because its not relevant but if they see a big gaping hole where the stereo used to be they will ask questions...

They will repair it up to the value of 75% of the car, my chassis has been compressed and the doors are jammed etc so I dont think they will, and the paint job to re-do will cost more lol

Is the paint job custom?

if so did you specify it on the policy? if not they dont have to do anything...

Smart Man 8)

Well if its included in the total value of the insured some (which it will be because you mentioned it) then that will be part of the 75% i would say

Assuming it's safety glass, just give it a bash, and it will turn entirely into shrapnel. They won't have a clue what caused it.

Insert suitable disclaimers about insurance fraud here
