ae92 dash tacho wiring

hey,

which wire do i splice on my cluster to get my tacho working again?

EDIT:: haha its an ae92 trueno running a link ecu :oops:

is it a non gze dash with a gze twin coil setup??

IIRC it comes from the ignitor, and is common with the IGN- signal from the daignostics panel, its a black wire.

not with a link as the will just get rpm off the hand controller or laptop they will use.

Depends on how it is wired.
If they have used most of the OE loom and just adapted on the link and igniter etc etc onto the appropiate places in the loom,
( which is quite likely)

the easiest place is just go to the old igniter wiring.
There would have originally been 5 wires, and now they will only be using 3 or maybe 2 as none of the 5 are earth.

You need to join the one that was labelled EXT on the old igniter and join it to the coil -ve.

OR failing that run a wire from the IG- in the diagnostic socket to the coil -ve.

ok, wiring in engine bay is completely new. also will having no cluster affect starting? becasue now it wont start :evil:
