any one know what this is

ae92 afm 4agze

on the inlet/ flywheel side,

whatever it is if its not pluged into the loom, would it cause the engine check light to be on?

Looks like your knock sensor to me and yes not been plugged in could cause the light to be on.

yep that little bastard is a temp sensor (block i presume) the ae92 1's are made out of a shit material, i broke 2 of them trying 2 get them in and hooked up, in the end i used 1 off an ae101 (made from something a little stronger than the ae92 1) when mine wesnt plaged in the car ran like shit and yes the engine check light kept cumming on. hope this helps man

w00t? that looks exactly like a knock sensor... under intake manifold around number 2 cylinder?

temp sensors go near water pump and sensor housing coming off number 4 out the end of the head.

dylan its the cyclinder closet to the flywheel, so that makes it 1 or 4. :oops:

closet to flywheel is 4 :wink:

on smallport the knock sensor is between 2 and 3. Maybe they changed the location on your model 4a block

Just read you have AFM model, they dont run knock sensors but im not sure what the sensor is. They are a green plug, I just rewired one of these last week :oops:

It looks like a 7rib (late model block, unless early gze's are 7rib too?) anyway so it could be a knock sensor that was left in the block but not used?

ive got this same plug on my aw11 4agze too, same place ect. its an aw11 bigport 4agze, dizzy / afm.

IT IS YOUR KNOCK SENSOR. nuff said, no more temp sensor crap.

and when you run the loom, look for the loose connector thats down those ways,

edit, and it's between 3 and 4 on that block

when engine is in the car, there will be a connector that you haven't plugged in. it will go onto the knock sensor. :D you running the gze engine loom?

oh yea i figured that man, i was tryna find were the plug pluged into for ages and gave up and now the engines out again i found it so i was just wondering what it was.

Hmmm yea it looked exactly like a knock sensor, same plug and everything.

I didnt think these cars ran them...

On later model ae92 the sensor goes between 2 and 3 on the intake side. Ill check the early ae92 gze motor tmr.

yes afm 4agzes have them
yes having it unplugged will cause the check light to be on (code 52 iirc)
