Yes I'm sure it's blown. The car doesn't move at all (some guy said mr2's can't do skids so of course I had to prove otherwise...,) And I know it's not the clutch...

How do you know its not the clutch?

If it doesnt move at all in any gear, forward or reverse, its definitly pointing to be the clutch, or input shft of GB atleast.

if it makes really loud noises when you try and shift between gears and/or disengaging the clutch it'll be gearbox. Don't underestimate the clutch if you can change smoothly but there's no drive

Hah, that was pretty intelligent! The gearboxes are reasonably strong, so you will have had to molested it fairly well to break it.

I've had my chick mate who did a mechanics course look at it and said it was the gearbox and a mate of mine looked at it and said the same thing (and said clutch was fine). Everything seems normal in it, just doesn't go anywhere lol. I myself have no idea what I'm looking at lol.

So what exactly happened when it "blew"? Big clunk?

If you start the car, does it make any odd noises?

If the car is running, and you put it into 1st and let the clutch out, what happens?

Um no, there were no noises at all. Doesn't make any odd noises when I start it. When I put it in 1st and let the clutch out it just revs, doesn't go anywhere.

Tell your mate shes a moron.

I've blown two gearboxes, 1st time car would drive and you could hear the pieces in the box flying around. Once of the fragments got caught between the cogs and then the car wouldn't roll at all. We crash started the car and the fragment went flying out the side of the gearbox.

2nd time was a GTiR. That litterally dropped its guts on the road. There was a pool of fluid and lots of fragments of everything.

It really reall sounds like a clutch to me!

Depends what 'DRTY.2' has classed at blowing. From the sounds of things she has just described it as blowing because the engine runs but the car has no drive.

Can you explain a bit more other than, I did a skid... Were you trying to change gears when drive stopped? Does the car not move with the engine running if you select any gear, incl reverse?

With the car in gear and engine off can the car roll? try with foot on the clutch and off. Can the car roll in neutral?

OK...

Doing skid in 1st, took my foot of the brake... moved forward and changed to second and it just revved and didn't accelerate.

Now in every gear when you take the foot off the clutch it doesnt go anywhere. Also I can change gear fine without my foot on the clutch...
