What a neat event! Having now seen the drifters in action live I have to say that some of those guys have heaps of talent and would be good at any form of motorsport they wanted to turn their hands to. And as a spectacle playing to the target audience it was absolutely perfect. Well done to all involved in making it happen. I was lucky enough to be able to watch from the elevated position next to the judges (my mate was the MANS Steward for the event) so was able to have a bit of a chuckle at the intense debate going on in deciding the matchups.

Apparently there are demos happening there tomorrow (Sunday 14/1) if anyone is interested in going down to watch. There are also some mint cars on display inside the centre itself and rumour has it that some of the drifters might be taking passengers. $10 to get in the gate. (Sorry, don't ask me for any more info, that's about as much as I managed to pick up!)
It's got me all excited again about going racing myself tomorrow... had been feeling a bit bleh about the prospect but now I'm raring to go again
