Anyone else think this is going to do even more damage to the NZ Motorsport scene? Bloody NZ seems to be anti-motorsport, and I'm damn sick of it, especially because of the money it can bring in, but of course people can't have their sunday meditation interrupted with a bit of engine noise a few times a year  (referring to Hampton Downs and the proposed Nelson Motorsport Park....)

Motorsport will always bring with it negative connotations - boy racers, bogans, drinking, noise etc etc in the eyes of a good proportion of society. Sad but true. Maybe someone should make a documentary that tells both sides of the story 8)

pull ya woolly f%$king head in.

where was i implying that he was the victim??
i was merely implying that he was a driver who has progressed well last year, but had to resort to drastic measures to keep going.
motorsport can be a nasty addiction, i would bloody near go to the same extreme if i had got to that level, but needed more funding to progress further.
Nz has produced some excellent drivers over the years, but as the technology has evolved, the cost of success has risen dramatically. for every champion, there are probably 3-4 mortgagee sales.

he saw an opportunity to continue in a sport , took it, got caught and is paying the price.
I've been a bad bad boy. I should read the rules and behave before I get spanked by an admin

Do the crime do the time if this guy had 1/2 a brain he would'nt have to resort to such measure's to kick start a so called promising motorsport career basically the way I look at he has taken the easy way out by committing this crime so now he has to pay the price..

I don't think you understand the money involved in that level of motorsport. But anyway, as you said, do the crime do the time.

It brings the sport into disrepute, assuming that he's guilty that is. Doesn't look too good for him having a credible defense though.

If you haven't got loads of money, or a supporter with loads of money, race where / what you can afford to.

TRS = a lot of money for somebody without a good sponsorship package.

The thing is I do realise how much it costs but common sense has to prevail.Bottom line is you either can afford to go racing or you can't or you race within your means, quite simple really..

classic as your all jump at the chance when someone steals your things lets kill them all

" oh my god some scum stole your car chop their hands off"

then someone holds up some men just doing there job picking up money from the bank and with what they thought at the time was a real gun its

"oh motorsports such an adiction thats ok i understand why you did it"

that could have been a real gun and he could have shot those men what about their familys would you want to be the one to tell them their husband/mate or dad has been shot dead
