mag wheel spacing

Postby kingcorolla » Wed May 03, 2006 9:09 pm

Hey how can i space my mags out 5mm from the hub and still retain load on the spigot?

do not need longer studs as i currently have 5mm multifit spacers on but they are dodgy and illeeegal coz the the wheels dont locate!

Bolt on adapters seem overkill since I only need 5mm clearence, is there an easier and more certifyable way i could consider thanks

im completely new to spacers so im still getting my head around it.

i see there are two types

1. a type which come with new studs and bolts onto the existing studs

2. a type which is basically a big washer.

if i was to use (1) how the $&#$% would i bolt the original studs to it ? and still get the mag wheel flush witht the spacer!?

do i need to get custom hubs or my studs lenghtened?

I "heard" so yeah possibly BS

That you could cert spacers that had locating rings in the centres for wheels, only what I thought I saw

yeah you need to get a hubcentric ring made up, should be pretty easy for an engineering place, and cheap. ideally you would want spacers that had the ring integrated, less parts = less stuff to go wrong (only bad thing about this is that you will only be able to fit wheels with the correct sized hole).

also afaik slip on spacers (the simple washer type) are illegal.

We sell a range of spacers (which TS members get a discount on of course) ranging from 3mm up to 50mm in thickness. The thinner ones (less than 15mm) are slip on spacers, and thus are not load bearing. The thicker ones come with studs installed, and these bolt in place. Some are load bearing and some are not. As stated above, you will need to check the LTSA regs and your local WOF agent perhaps depending on your use for them.
