your saying "t" the abv and boost guage line at line "e"

i would have thought line "B" would have been correct, thats were my boost guage is currently

Sorry dude man, my bad, I did write that. It's edited to what I was meant to say, to avoid any confusion.

So, yep T to the "B" line on the diagram and you'll be boosting sweet.

That's a good question dude, but I can't make them out very well on the pic.

On closer inspection, those two long lines that are blocked to to be the cold start air lines. The lines below on the same piece are the water lines for the cold start mechanism. I ended up just getting rid of all of that $hit on my AW. It broke and was too hard to get a replacement, so I just didn't have proper cold start. All it meant was I had to hold a bit of throttle until it warmed up a bit, or else it would stall. not a biggie as these thing need to be warmed up anyway, cause of the forged pistons slapping away when they're cold.

That's a good pic for the factory vacuum lines, but not for these chaps that are going for bigger boost.
The other cold start lines are not on that diagram, as they are on the other side of the throttle body.

Yeah Escortman, I'd say that could be why it's not so good on startup. Either that, or cause you don't have a brown VSV. Might have to research what the brown VSV actually does. Something to do with fuel pressure???

I wouldn't bother with doing anything about the cold start. It just means you have to be gentle with it when cold. You should be warming it right up anyway. Forged pistons slap around a bit until they are warmed up.

Now from memory, in my AW those lines went to the side of the engine bay, under the intercooler. They were connected to a VSV of sorts. Not sure how it's controlled though.

The brown VSV stops vacuum acting on the fuel regulator while cranking, to increase fuel pressure for hot start enrichment.

Sweet, cheers Matt.
So, I'd say Escortman's problems when cold is because of that cold start setup.

I can have a look if you want. I'm based out on the Air Force base in Whenuapai. It's not too far away from where you are. I bought that AE92 parcel tray off ya if you remember that.

What do you want checked? The ABV mod, or the cold start, or just everyting in general? I can get the ABV mod done sweet as, but with your conversion, you might find you wont be able to get the cold start going properly. Depends if you can find the bits and where the connect to.

Sweet.

Sweet, let's get this b*tch boosting then 8)

I'm on night shifts at the moment. Start is 4PM, til late (at work at the moment  )

I'll be working on my cars tomorrow on Base, so if you can make it there before 4 PM, I'll be able to have a look see.

My cell is 027 291 0955. Gimme a text if you're able to come.

PS, You'll probably need a T and maybe some vacuum hose and something to block other lines, depending on how you're car is set up now.
