4AGE / GZE the same?

Postby Fortyone.co.nz » Tue Feb 27, 2007 2:38 pm

Just a quick question, if a cam suits a 4AGZE, will it suit a 4AGE Blacktop? Same with crank? Rods? Pistons? Ta!

well it was all i could be bothered typing.

exhaust side cams would fit, but intake cams would not as theres an extra 4 valves that need taking care of and youd lose your vvt

pistons are unlikely to work as you would need an extra valve cutout to accomodate the 5th valve for each cylinder.

crank and rods afaik are inderchangeable throughout the 4age series

cams will just not work, 4agze's are 16v and the blacktop 4age is 20v :roll:

pistons are slightly different becuase of the extra valve

rods, yes

cams = no 16v vs. 20v

rods = yes

crank = yes

pistons = yes but motor becomes interference

Same does not apply to anything less than small port in a 20v.

ie. bluetop cams, crank, rods and pistons wont fit (well would but would require silly, silly amounts of modification)

You can use 4AGZE pistons with silvertop head. Many use them for turbo application. I would guess they work with a black top head.
Just don't brake your cam belt, then you will have prob's.
