Caldina GT-T Issue

Postby Kev_pn » Mon Feb 26, 2007 6:34 pm

Hopefully someone can help or give a suggestion. Just recently got a 97 gt-t and i goes good etc except for 1 problem keeps croping up. Everynow and again after start-up there is no speedo reading or revreading on the needles. Also tiptronic wont work (no gear changes), the od flashes and if put into tiptronic the M flashes. The yard I got it from was sent it to an auto elecy and no luck. Its back their at the moment as I want it sorted asap. Any ideas as a mate pointed me in this direction and any help is welcome. Cheers

I'd start by checking connector "C" on the ECU (under the glove box). All the pins that relate to your problems are on that connector.

Will they need the problem to be happening at the time? As it rights itself after awhile (it wasnt occuring last itme the elecy had it). Also the orange engine icon and the traction control (vcs or vsc cant remember acronum off the top of my head) were lit up. Also the second time it happened the air condition was on (unlike the first time) and you could here it whir (for better use of a word) loudly? hasnt happened any other time.

It's probably just a loose connector, but I don't know which end it would be at. I'd start by unplugging and reconnecting all the plugs on the ECU.

Shouldn't need it happening to do that, but as to checking to see if it will fix it that's a bit of a problem. Either it won't occur again and that was the problem, or it will, and you have to start looking elsewhere, like the other end of the loom (instrument cluster?) or possibly the ECU
