Chuck good coil overs in, big sway bars, agressive mechanical LSDs in the back and center, turn up the boost and she will have charactor alright. As much as any old car and be able to do everything ten times quicker
The handling and speed of a turbo 4wd does wear off after a little while.
Effortlessly reaching 200clicks plus is not as exciting as it used to be.
I dont miss my evo too much, i do view my rolla as gutless though! But shes definatly fun to drive, she handles quite well too allthough the speeds im reaching are no where near what the evo could do.
I havnt driven it much lately though, not since some c**ts tried breaking into it
Shes going to the short taupo track next weekend though, should be a blast!! Then the trusty N/A 4age and T50 box will retire and move aside for a w55 and 4agte!
I could never do that in the evo, mods that yield actual gains cost a shitload allthough there were cool things you could do like methanol injection kits and software to rewrite and tune the ecu from home!300+kw on standard internals is becoming pretty standard for 2ltr turbos.
But i think with all cars you personally work on you become attatched, weather it is brand new or 30+ years old.
One thing, new cars have aircon!! aircon ftw! Rainy days = no foggy windows. When behind smelly cars put it on recirculate and the aircon on with a bit of heat to take the bite away and you get nice fresh seeming air, not musty warm recirculated air.
Makes the car so much more comfortable!
