hybrid ct26 or ct20b?

Postby touge rolla » Wed Apr 11, 2007 1:43 am

lost to a ford focus last night :(
wasn't quite so sad when i find out it was a 2.5l turbo and only one in the country, but still clearly i need more power. Should i take my ct26 and get a t4 compressor wheel and steel shaft added to it or just grab a stock ct20b and bolt that on??

Stock CT20b is good turbo but it lacks in the wastegate design. It does not work very well on no-muffler 3" system ;).

You can cut mid-low 13s @ 105mph on a stock ct26 with around 15psi and a downpipe. I wouldn't wanna push it anymore though

With the ct20b you don't have to rape the car so much to get the same times  but if you do and run 18psi or so you will run 12s with 110mph traps.

Oh yeah use 100 octane gas too :P

CT20b unless you've got one of those awesome 450+hp CT26's that really honestly do exist, even though theres no dyno graphs to back that up.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

You don't need the external, unless you like the noise.

It does get old pretty quick though. Doing it now wont really save much later on, as if you plan on going bigger turbo you'll more than likely need to use a different manifold, or at least an adaptor which will require a different placement.
