Stereo brackets

Postby DJ » Fri Apr 27, 2007 2:20 am

I want to put a headdeck /stereo in my car, but its missing the factory stereo brackets (things the hold the headdeck in), since factory ones are rare as hens teeth, would AW11/AE82 ones be the same?

Oh, and its a double-dim slot too and im only putting in a single slot deck, so where do people get those little plastic dim covers?

Repco do actually stock them, at least the ones up here do. You might have to ask them to order it in for you.

you can get blanks from installer survices AJ there about $10 just ask for phil there opposit rebal sport or about there on the other side of the one way

as for the stero brackets in question from what iv found there a basicaly 3 types for toyota up to 1993 ish theres straight mount starged top & bottom (both ways) most of them are the same mounting point with different holes to put the H.U in the right place for the dash so if you get some with the right mounting then just drill more holes/add washers to make it sit were you want
The faster you go the quicker you get there

Specialized car stereo shops also sell those strip-type brackets which you can bend to suit. Useful not only for car stereos.. :)

through revvy may be an ok price...went for a set for the supra years ago, and were a bit of a rip. personally, If I have a car without them I just make out of alloy or steel. Make up a cardboard template, then mark drill and bend- not hard really.
