wheel studs

hey people im getting a headache fitting sum new wheel studs in
they seem to be a bit tighter than the old hilux ones and also the splines on them seem to be finer and more of them.
would these studs be not correct or what wud be the easiest way to get these puppies fitted any ideas wud be welcomed

sounds like they are not the right ones....

are you changine the originals for longer ones?
if so you may need to go into your local dealer and match splines etc

Hi while we are on the subject of studs , I have just brought some 25mm spacers for the rear of my ST202 Celica but the factory studs stick to far through the spacers so the wheel rests on the bolts rather than flush up against the spacer , can the studs be cut shorter or will i need to buy some shorter ones ? Thanks

I had spacers with my old mags and when I changed them I found that my wheel studs had just been sawn off to sit flush with the spacers. Didnt seem to cause any problems.... But now I'm not using the spacers and my new mags are held on by sweet FA so im trying to find some new studs also.

The front are 265/30 ZR19 and the rear are 305/25 ZR20.

Be careful there, apparantly at WOF checks they check how much of the stud is going through aftermarket wheels, I think it has to have at least 6 threads showing without the nut.

Yeh thats what I thought, I took it for a WOF last week and they looked like they were doing something with the wheels, but they must not have checked coz I passed. I think I've only got 3 turns of thread on each wheel stud. But I'm more worried about the safety of the car, not sneaking through a WOF check

Called Toyota and they quoted $6.60 + gst per stud for new ones. They didn't need to view a sample or get engine/chasis numbers either, just told me over the phone what I needed for a supra. So I'll be ordering those as soon as payday rolls around... seeing as I need 20 of the freakin things *sigh*

hehe probably not a good idea to swap anyway.

The previous owner of my car did some wierd stuff with the old mags, on the front and rear LEFT side of the car they put bolt on 50mm spacers but on the front and rear RIGHT side of the car they had a 50mm bolt on spacer PLUS a 30mm loose spacer... dont know what was going in with that lol.
