otherwise why do RT matter....

Because you lose if you don't cross the line first, as Ashely Force found out at the summer nationals a few weeks ago ;)

Code: Select all

(W) Mike Ashley (Torco Race Fuels Charger)      0.036      4.947 292.84
(L) Ashley Force (Castrol GTX Mustang)          0.123      4.926 263.20

Both drivers started mixing up the cylinders at about 1000 feet. Mike Ashley won this one at the tree. Mike Ashley's incremental margins: 60ft(0.063), 330 ft(0.052), 660ft(0.062), 1,000ft(0.041). MOV: 0.0666 seconds (approximately 26 feet).

Just more info to help nut out what happened on the race - both for spectator and race team. Same as 60ft etc, a slow R/T makes it obvious the driver needs more coffee in the morning. Slow 60ft shows they need to sort out traction.... low trapspeed for an ET might indicate something being up with the power delivery (clutch slip in high gears? Slow gear shifter? Tuning issues....) etc.

And she was really pissed off at being beaten on a holeshot. From what I remember of the race the commentator said it was the first time she'd been beaten that way

Yeah I know who Ashley Force is, but as far as I am concerned "guys" can be used for guys and girls when a group is involved :)

I can imagine - what kind of R/T would she normally pull?? If I remember rightly I got beaten my first time ever off the tree last year and the guy that beat me "only" did a .15 vs my .20 if I remember rightly. Her R/T would have been enough to beat the guy that beat me 8O
