Then you will still have all the parts to convert over (brakes, manual conversion +more i bet) to your car and still have a base engine to build off and sell the parts that you dont need. There are plenty parts that i would be interesed in and im betting other people on here would be too.Yeah the head is mostlikely gone but there is still plenty more you can slavage from that car, i got a blacktop head pretty cheap that is still sitting in my garage.

On the serious note, ok we all see that you "love" your car very much.. BUT WHY?
rationally thinking, it would just be cheaper to buy a real bz-r if thats what you want in the end of the day. Not like as if there are no bz-r's for sale around. And building a 20V, is not cheap. Hint, its a 5 figure work.
Maybe you should PM Bazda instead. He may help you. I don't know.. but from the looks of it, you're far from help.
Nice car from the outside tho
To be frank, the reason people do up ae86's is because they are an awesome piece of toyota history that you cannot purchase anymore... so people sink their blood, sweat, tears and most likely quite a few relationships into them...lee90 wrote:like some people do up the old trueno ae86 or ae85 but I just want to do up the 4age blacktops ae111.

TRD_ZERO wrote:My first car was my first project and i got the same shiz from everyone "Why did you spend so much money on it blah blah balah you should have bought a dohc turbo to start with" In the end i didnt even notice how much money i spent on it and it didnt matter the only thing that mattered was how much fun i had, you get to a certain point with you car when its too late to turn arond and start from scratch on a new one. I know where you are comming from lee90. If you are really passionate about your car as it seems you are just do what you want....take everyones opinions in consideration as alot of them have a great amount of experience but dont let it fully hinder what your goal is.
So my advice would be keep the car you have and buy the crashed bzr with the fooked engine and start swapping all the bits over pull that engine out and send it away to get it worked on...... you can pick up a new head pretty cheap. You were getting it at a pretty good price to begin with but now that the engine is fuuked you should be able to get it cheaper....... My 2c

hi solitaire I didn't mean my car have sentimental value I just say for every bodys hobby is different. like some like to do it from when they get the car. but I made it wrong. decision at the start so don't go hard on me man~ didn't mean anything man. just I don't want to do the same things all over again.solitaire wrote:To be frank, the reason people do up ae86's is because they are an awesome piece of toyota history that you cannot purchase anymore... so people sink their blood, sweat, tears and most likely quite a few relationships into them...lee90 wrote:like some people do up the old trueno ae86 or ae85 but I just want to do up the 4age blacktops ae111.
I am not saying that there is no point in your work - But you could go and buy a BZG or whatever from a car yard for the sticker price & get it painted for way cheaper than it will cost for someone to convert an Auto FZ into a Manual BZG for you - they will probably charge you extra because they dont want to do it.
What im saying is that the reason "i have already sunk a lot of money into it" doesnt really make any sense mate - If its got sentimental value then let us know...
These guys are quality and they are always going to advise the best course of action for you to follow... untill you give them a reason for why this particular FZ is worth the money they will always try to encourage you to make the best use of your time and your money.
Failing That: If your determined take your car to a performance shop and tell them to convert it to a Manual BZG - dont buy any parts yourself.. make them do it and make them get it certed. That way you will be sure you will not have any grief in the future and it will put a dollar value on what you are trying to achieve

engine specialties can build you a 200hp n/a 4age 20v engine but you would prob have a bill of about $10-15k
I wasnt going hard on your mate... Example. I have a 1990 ae92 Levin Apex. One day (when i have heaps of time) i want to strip it down, repaint it, restor it to original condition and maybe stick a 7age or a 4agze in it. It makes no sense as i could buy something better for my money - but my car was bought for me by my father before he died (he owned a ke25 and loved corollas) - so there is an explanation for my insanity.lee90 wrote:I didn't mean my car have sentimental value I just say for every bodys hobby is different. like some like to do it from when they get the car. but I made it wrong. decision at the start so don't go hard on me man~ didn't mean anything man. just I don't want to do the same things all over again.
Yeah my misus didnt aggree with my "set fire to a giant rubish bag full of $20 notes" hobby either... woman always spoil the fun!lee90 wrote:say for every bodys hobby is different
