hey guys
im doing a kp starlet 4age conversion, and ive bought a k50 to mate up to the 4age. I know this is a pritty common box to use so any info on these qusetions would be much appreciated.
- Will the box bolt up in my starlet to the exsiting xmember, driveshaft, clutch cable and such?
-Would i run with a 4age clutch setup or a k series?
-And can i use a ke70 xmember and rubber on the box?
cheers

not too sure on the x-member, id imagine itd just line straight up, if not it shouldnt be hard to make it fit, same for the clutch cable, driveshaft should fit straight in.
you have to use a 4age pressure plate and a 3au drive plate.
donno bout that, itd be easier using the gboxs x-member id say

HI I had a k50 on my 4age powered ke25 and have helped friends who have done the same conversion in starlets ans other corollas. the run down is, yes it will bolt straight in if it has the A series bell housing, you may need to modify the shifter hole depending on the tail shaft you use, If your starlet has a k50 just change the tail shafts over and its a straight bolt up ( incl drive shaft), you will need to get a modified clutch plate these are not that expensive and if you go to a clutch specialist they should no exactly what to do, I think my clutch plate and preasure plate cost me about 350. clutch cable should be sweet.

How much did you pay for an A series K50?
I may be looking of one soon.

k50-kp60 conversion
3a k50 gearbox- best way (if you have the one of course) is to remove the 3a k50 tailshaft housing and replace it with the tail shaft housing from a starlet 5 speed gearbox, this means the shifter will come out the original tunnel hole and also means you retain the use of the orginal starlet crossmember and drive shaft.
As for clutch you will use the 4age pressure plate and a 3a k50 clutch plate
also use the 4age starter motor.

For a A series k50 anything between 100-200 running is reasonable but yea have seen them go for more than that there in quite high demand at times
