In progress of completing my 4agte, unfortunatly the motor's packed a sad so going to rebuild it with 4agze bottom end and the 20v head.

Just a bit low of funds, so going to run it with the standard ECU for now untill i can afford a LINK.

Any tricks to help it from running like dog's ass, or even blowing up.

Retard the timming, Maybe add a 5th injector and wire it to run when the car hits boost?

if you are low on funds, rebuild the motor as planned and run it without the turbo to start with.

Then when you got the funds together, do the turbo conversion.

best to do things properly the first time. otherwise what seems like the quickest cheapest option can cost you even more in the long run.

i dont think the ITBs will work with forced induction on standad ecu

Yea dont wana risk blowin up ur new engine. Instead of goin with gze bottem end, you could rebuild the 20v with gze pistons

been there done that, don't do it cheaply, especially if going with 20v head (there is more cost in that as it is). what you need to do is sort out why it blew up, headgaskit? too much boost? thrashing it and not checking afr? not enough fuel etc?

then from there, get the motor you have rebuilt, ad fix whatever caused it. trust me i wish i did my car up to what it is now, the first time, would have saved me ALOT of money in between. bu i tried doing it on the cheap.

Motor blew up cause the bottom ends packed a sad, then my mate didnt think i topped the oil up (what i did) and topped it up for me..

So over-filled the oil, what would that cause?

It detonated like a shit, and just blew smoke everywhere and died.

Overfilling the oil can cause the rings to blow out. Depends on how over full it was.

Also, who tops up oil without looking at the level on the dipstick??? Sounds like a BS excuse.

If it was detonating, you need to sort out your timing. You would have buggered the bottom end bearings due to the detonation, rather than the oil.

TIMING was your problem.

Check your piston crowns and ringlands, they're probably rooted after the detonation.

Thanks, my car had a oil leak.
And you had to keep topping up the oil like everyday.
I asked a mate to top it up, he didnt at the time, so i did..
Then he did.. then boom.
